Sehri & Iftar Meal Planner
Ramadan is busy enough without deciding the menu twice a day. Set your start date and family size, choose how many fried iftar days you want, and get a 30-day plan with a shopping list for each week.
Your Ramadan menu
Every iftar starts with dates and water. Dates follow the expected start of Ramadan; change the first roza when the moon is sighted.

What makes a good sehri
Sehri should keep you going until iftar, so choose food that digests slowly:
- Protein: eggs, qeema, paneer, dahi or milk.
- Slow carbs: whole wheat paratha or roti, oats, daliya.
- Fluids: water, milk or lassi. Go easy on very salty food and strong chai, which make you thirsty.
Short on time before Fajr? Make egg paratha rolls or overnight oats the night before.
A lighter iftar table
- Open with dates and water, then pray Maghrib before the main plate.
- Fry less often, not never. Set fried days to 2 or 3 a week; the other days get chaat and a cooling drink.
- Fry in batches before iftar and keep pakoras crisp on a rack in a low oven, or use an air fryer.
- Make chaat the healthy star: fruit chaat, chana chaat and dahi baray are filling and need no frying.
Get ahead before Ramadan
- Make and freeze samosas, spring rolls and shami kababs in the week before Ramadan. Fry them straight from frozen.
- Soak and boil chickpeas in a big batch and freeze them in portions for chaat.
- Blend ginger-garlic paste and fry onions (birista) for the whole month.
Questions people ask
When does Ramadan 2027 start?
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on or around 8 February 2027, with Eid ul Fitr around 9 or 10 March. The exact dates depend on the moon sighting where you live, so change the first roza date in the planner when it is announced.
What should I eat for sehri to stay full?
Pair protein with slow carbohydrates: eggs or qeema with a whole wheat paratha, oats with milk and dates, or daliya. Drink water and milk, and avoid very salty food.
How can I make iftar healthier without giving up pakoras?
Keep fried snacks to two or three days a week and fill the other days with fruit chaat, chana chaat or dahi baray. The planner lets you choose the number of fried days.
Can I plan only sehri and iftar, without dinner?
Yes. Untick “Plan dinner too” and the dinner column and its shopping disappear.
